Bosch continues to grow in Italy: in 2016 it reached a turnover of 2.4 billion euros, +6% compared to 2015. Italy is one of the most important markets for the German multinational. The Bosch Group in Italy has 20 companies and 4 research centers with more than 5,800 collaborators. In particular, the Household Appliances division has seen not only growth in turnover, but also in shares in a market that is reaching the pre-crisis levels. Cooking products, dishwashers and dryers are particularly appreciated. “We are pleased with the results achieved in 2016 – said Gerhard Dambach, managing director of the Bosch Group in Italy -. 2017 started well: in the first quarter, despite a bad economic outlook, we are confirming the revenue levels with a particularly positive performance in the Mobility Solutions and Energy and Building Technology sectors. Today, Bosch has its cloud for IoT solutions also in new areas, while in January the first Bosch Deepfield Robotics Smart Farming start-up was launched, where innovative solutions for an agriculture 4.0 are being developed”. Among the 2016 news, there is the opening of the Bosch Sensortec Italian headquarters, which operates in the MEMS sensors development, solutions and systems for applications in smartphones, tablets, wearable devices and the IoT. Finally, Bosch aims to achieve a 3-5% growth in turnover in 2017. “The business success of today allows us to shape the world of tomorrow – said Volkmar Denner, CEO of Bosch Group -. As a leader in innovation, we are driving this change. This transformation is mainly due to changes in mobility and IoT connectivity. By 2020 all new Bosch electronic devices will be connected. The key is the artificial intelligence. Over the next five years, Bosch will invest 300 million euros in its artificial intelligence center”.
