WEEE managed by Ecodom grew by 25%

In the first six months of 2017, Ecodom increased the WEEE collection by 25.3% compared to the same period of 2016: the Italian consortium managed 50,415 tonnes, doing 21,386 transports. The R2 Group grew from 24,465 to 31,230 tonnes (+27.6%), while the R1 Group increased from 15,458 to 18,731 tonnes (+21.2%). Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Tuscany are the regions where Ecodom collects the largest quantities, respectively 10,249 tonnes (+17.7% compared to 2016), 6,315 tonnes (+55.5%) and 4,852 tonnes (+32%). At the national level, the region with the highest percentage increase over last year is Lazio with +57.1% (from 2.562 tonnes of WEEE managed to 4.026 tonnes). In the Southern Italy, the leader region is Sicily with 3.069 tonnes (+46.3% over 2016). “The growth trend of the quantities managed by the consortium continues to be significant, both in the R1 Group and R2. – said Giorgio Arienti, general director of Ecodom -. It is relevant that also many regions in the Center and the South Italy are working more and more to increase the collection”.
