Rold Elettrotecnica and Italtel have signed a bilateral agreement of technological and commercial cooperation for the industry 4.0. The two companies will collaborate to realize repeatable and innovative technological solutions and develop joint innovation projects. These solutions will be marketed on the industry 4.0 market for Italian and international clients, also by leveraging the creation of a partner ecosystem. During the Mobile World Congress 2018 (Barcelona, from February 26th to March 1st), the first result of this collaboration, a connected machine solution in the industry 4.0 field, will be exhibited at the Exprivia-Italtel stand (2G10). The added value of the cooperation is based on the SmartFab platform (which Rold created in collaboration with Samsung and which is designed for the smart monitoring of the production lines, in the logic of the digitization of industrial processes) and on Italtel’s experience in the system integration activities, in the Big Data&Analytics solutions and in the support for engineering and provision of technical assistance services. “The digital transformation of the factory is an inescapable fact and today there are affordable solutions to exploit the advantages of the industry 4.0, gaining competitiveness and efficiency – commented Laura Rocchitelli, President of Rold -. Rold Smartfab allows to digitize the production quickly, connecting the machines and obtaining data in real time, useful for fast, but accurate monitoring. In addition, it promotes the development of advanced manufacturing skills, increasing the digital culture of managers working in manufacturing companies so that they can be examples and leaders for their collaborators. Initially we created the platform to be able to use it internally. The subsequent realization of the Rold Smartfab business unit is a result that obviously makes us very happy and that is a direct consequence of an escalation of contacts and attention towards our solution, both from our customers and from qualified technological partners such as Italtel”.
