Daniele Pianezze, Components group leader at Confindustria Ceced Italia, commented on the trend of the components sector in 2017. “It was a positive year – he said – even if with some ups and downs due to economic-political and regulatory situations in some markets of destination. As normal, the seasonality of some types of finished products has influenced. Since the summer the growth of the major domestic appliances has slowed down while the cooking segment has increased (built-in models). Strong growths have been recorded for induction hobs in both volume and value with a strong research on the Flexi-zone surfaces. The increase of the ovens with steam cooking is also good and the one for the Gas on Glass cooking products is excellent (+20%)”. According to the analysis of Confindustria Ceced Italia, the market has rewarded the innovation only in some types of products (induction, steam cooking, pyrolytic ovens), but in general the market seemed to manufacturers of components still rather slow in the change towards more advanced products in technology and performance.
