Dalmar launches a service designed by Hutchinson to help customers in the process of seal identification and replacement. The official presentation at Mostra Convegno Expocomfort, from 13th to 16th March 2018 at Fieramilano.
Could you identify the single O-ring you buy?
If you work inside an industrial manufacturing process, you have been certainly required to make a replacement or a control of the seal without anyway having the elements to identify it any longer. This means the loss of the information to provision correctly and spending a lot of time to trace back data.
Hutchinson has found a solution to the problem with the micro engraving: an alphanumeric code, positioned on the seal surface, will allow the personnel to assess the authenticity of the O-ring and to obtain manifold information about the traceability of each single piece.

Utmost control on the production batch
The novelty that will be presented in preview by Dalmar at MCE 2018 provides for an improvement of the process efficiency, applicable upon demand on all O-rings with a thickness exceeding 2.5 mm and on all compounds, with the exclusion of silicon ones.
The univocal code reported on each single piece will be read by a simple magnifying glass and, through the dedicated app, users will trace back all loaded information, required in production phase.
The traceability of the single element is the first of a series of advantages that result in:
– fast and precise product identification, to speed up its replacement;
– certainty of origin in maintenance phase;
– error reduction in new order phase;
– productivity increase, due to the reduction of machine idle times and related costs.
Unchanged seal performances
The engraving, carried out with advanced equipment, provides a permanent and indelible result, granting at the same time the non-alteration of the characteristics of shape, colour and hardness.
Besides the advantage of withstanding the conditions to which the seal is subjected, such as constant stresses, noxious chemical products and extreme temperatures.
Presentation meeting at MCE
The traceability system developed by Hutchinson arouses the interest of several sectors, like the energy and food industry, where the traceability and punctual identification of the seal are of primary interest.
The choice, then, of delivering the first official presentation at Fiera Milano – Mostra Convegno Expocomfort from 13th to 16th March 2018.
