Display technology for the household appliance is evolving to actively accompany the latest generation of appliances, both for the consumer and professional sectors, on two distinct but integrated paths: the ability to manage the product process and functions according to a logic of ecoefficiency, and an increasingly close dialogue with artificial intelligence applications that improve user experience and performance.

More AI to manage the process

The innovation of the control display is functional to both the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies for the appliance and the ability of appliances to work in ever closer integration. Simplifying all cooking process management operations through high accessibility.

«We have recently unveiled the new AEG kitchen range, featuring AIpowered cooking, extraordinary design and energy-efficient product features», explains Alessia Gasparini, Marketing Activation Manager at Electrolux Appliances.

«One of the main innovations is the introduction of the CookSmart Touch display, an extremely intuitive interface that accompanies users through every step of the cooking process. For the first time, a complete synergy between ovens, hobs and integrated coffee machines is offered, enhancing the user experience. The display provides easy, one-touch access to advanced functions such as Assisted Cooking, which automates the management of settings such as boiling in induction hobs and cooking settings in ovens, thereby optimising results and minimising manual intervention».

On the technological side, «AEG developed the CookSmart Touch system display to offer extremely smooth navigation and precise control of the various functions». Connectivity is another key element, thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence in the AI TasteAssist function, which allows recipes to be shared directly with the oven. «This intelligent system automatically analyses optimal cooking parameters, such as times and temperatures, improving precision and efficiency in preparation».

Intuitive and interactive for the Professional

Three types of beverage dispensing equipment for the Pro world from Zerica; three innovative ways of designing and using the display. In the water dispensing machines of the Refresh line, the screen provides information about the format and the automatic filling of glasses and carafes; technical assistance connects remotely and can make diagnoses or detect anomalies.

Regarding juices, «the BeviLa Natura machine dispenses three types of juice, fresh water and sparkling water at breakfast time, but changes configuration during the day dispensing only water. The display makes it possible to change the scenario and thus to programme the use of the appliance, avoiding energy wastage by putting unnecessary functions on standby. User can also employ the display to electronically set the mixing and dosing of concentrated fruit juices in the preferred quantity with the millimetric precision of a scale from zero to one hundred», says Antonio Zerilli, managing director of Zerica.

It is with the Mix&Go! cocktail preparation and dispensing machine that the display plays an even more important role in optimising the performance of the machine. «From the display, it is possible to access preloaded cocktail recipes with a video explaining the process dedicated to each preparation. The screen also tells the user which type of glass to use thanks to a specific icon and suggests how to customise drinks, insert ice or other ingredients such as sugar, fruit or herbs. Once user press the dispensing button, the display starts a second video that explains how to complete and garnish their cocktail». On the operator side, the display manages the entire process and all information related to the work of the machine, allowing access to the consumption statistics of the drinks and individual ingredients.
