From its foundation to industry leadership: the story of a company that has made technological progress and tradition its pillars

ADVERTORIAL

Sixty years of business are not merely an anniversary, but concrete proof of a journey built on intuition, expertise and the ability to adapt to change. In 2026, C.A.E.M. celebrates a significant anniversary, confirming its leading role in the heating, cooking, household appliances and special applications sectors.

The company’s origins date back to the entrepreneurial vision of Piero Zanon and his partners, who started their business in the Brescia area, producing sensitive elements for thermostats used in gas and electric ovens. A sector that still represents the company’s core business today. The first key step came in 1970 with the move to Almese (Turin), to a 700-sq m facility, marking the beginning of structured growth. The decisive turning point came in 1973 with the production of the first C.A.E.M.-branded electric thermostat, immediately VDE-certified as a guarantee of quality and safety. Since then, the company has pursued a path of continuous development, culminating in 1987 with the move to its current 2,500-sq m headquarters.

Over the years, the product range has expanded to include increasingly advanced solutions, such as manual reset safety thermostats capable of operating up to 400°C. Opening up to international markets was also a determining factor, reinforced by participation in trade fairs and the obtaining of important certifications. The early 1990s marked a crucial step towards globalization with the entry into the North American market thanks to UL certification.

With the new millennium came new challenges, including a major contract with Europe’s leading gas thermostats manufacturer, which required investments and production reorganization to support the supply of over a million sensitive elements per year. In 2013, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications further strengthened the company’s commitment to quality and safety.

Today, C.A.E.M. operates in around 80 countries and continues to innovate, expanding its range with devices designed to meet new market needs. These include HC and HC RM single-pole thermostats engineered to operate with loads up to 30 A at 120/250 VAC, as well as other solutions, mainly for frost protection of external air conditioner units, bipolar range 2° to -25°C, available with different capillary lengths up to 15 mt; 20A fail-safe bipolar thermal cutouts and -10°+10°C range thermostats.

Since 2010, the company has been led by the Zanon family. Under the leadership of Corrado Zanon, tradition and innovation merge in a vision that looks to the future without losing its roots. «C.A.E.M.’s success is the result of shared work with employees, suppliers, and customers», management emphasizes.

To celebrate these 60 years, the Almese plant will open its doors on September 5, 2026, for an Open Day dedicated to employees, families, suppliers, and customers. The day will be followed by a special evening event for partners from all over the world. A symbolic moment that doesn’t represent a finish line, but a new stage in a journey set to continue.
