 According to the “Industry 4.0 Observatory” (Polytechnic of Milan), the market of the Industry 4.0 projects in Italy reached a value of 3.2 billion euros in 2018 (+35% compared to the previous year). The most widespread technologies are the Industrial IoT, which represents 60% of the market with a value of 1.9 billion euros and records the strongest growth among the IT technologies (+40%), followed by Industrial Analytics, with 530 million euros (17% of the market, + 30%), and Cloud Manufacturing with 270 million euros (8%, +35%). Among the Operational Technologies, Advanced Automation has the largest market share with 160 million and a growth of 10%, followed by Additive Manufacturing with 70 million euros, while the Advanced Human Machine Interface marks the most robust growth (+50%, 45 million euros). The last part of the market consists of consultancy and training activities related to Industry 4.0 projects: 220 million euro (+10%), a figure lower than the expectations which shows that there is still much to do in terms of skills.
