The use of app is becoming increasingly widespread among consumers, including for home management. There are now many smart appliances that can be managed using this quick and intuitive tool. The success of using apps to control smart home devices is also confirmed by the recent milestone achieved by Haier Europe. The company recently announced that it has reached 10 million users connected to its proprietary digital platforms.
Among the Group’s digital systems, the hOn app can manage up to 35 product lines from the Haier, Candy, and Hoover brands. It confirms its position as the beating heart of the connected home with a 40% year-on-year increase in users. The application not only allows users to manage large and small appliances, but also water and air treatment systems and even energy management systems, including photovoltaics, integrating a complete ecosystem into a single platform.
What are the most connected categories?
According to data reported by Haier Europe, the most connected categories are washing (60%), refrigeration (13%), air conditioning (12%), and cooking (10%). Usage peaks varies seasonally between washing machines, dryers, and air conditioners.
The most popular features are remote control (used by over 85% of users) and exclusive programs available only in the app (35% of cycles started). Eco functions, such as Eco planning, consumption statistics, and preventive maintenance, are also very popular. They involve over 65% of users and contribute significantly to energy savings and reducing environmental impact.
Connectivity and sustainability
The attention shown by consumers towards Eco features demonstrates how technology can truly offer products and services that help users respect the environment. What’s more, they also help simplify people’s daily lives.
Haier Europe’s commitment to sustainability has recently been enhanced by a new partnership between hOn and AWorld. The latter is the official platform supporting the global Act Now campaign of the United Nations and European Commission for the Climate Pact. “Thanks to the integration with AWorld – explains Haier Europe – the hOn app also becomes a sustainability hub, offering users exclusive content, a dedicated community, and a system of missions and challenges that reward virtuous behavior and encourage active participation”.
Through gamification dynamics, the experience is transformed into an engaging and educational journey. Users can measure their impact, discover everyday practices to reduce consumption, and receive digital rewards for every sustainable action, thus contributing to real change.
“The integration of AWorld – concludes Haier Europe – strengthens our role as a concrete ally for sustainability and for an increasingly smart home in which technology not only simplifies and makes everyday life more efficient, but also becomes a concrete tool for raising awareness and guiding people’s choices towards a future with less environmental impact”.
