The Swiss Franke Group, headquartered in Aarburg, is expanding its Nordic presence and strengthening its expertise in central ventilation with the acquisition of Røros Metall. This is a premium Norwegian manufacturer of RørosHetta kitchen hoods and ventilation systems. The deal includes 100% of Røros Metall shares.
The company will become part of Franke Home Solutions, the division of the Franke Group dedicated to intelligent systems and solutions for residential kitchens. This integration fortifies Franke’s position in the Nordic market, combining the strengths of both companies in sustainable, energy-efficient ventilation solutions. Besides, the operation will allow RørosHetta to thrive within the Franke global network.

A company with 80 years of history
Røros Metall is a family-owned company and started as a copper and tin shop in 1946. Since then, its production has evolved across various areas, guided by a vision: to deliver high-quality products rooted in solid craftsmanship. Ventilation, kitchen hoods and cooling units are the pillars of the company’s 80-year history.
It launched its first kitchen hood in 1981 and over time the company has established itself in the Nordic region. For more than 20 years now, Røros Metall has collaborated with Faber. In 2024, it also became the official distributor for Franke sinks and taps in Norway.
Innovation and creativity in product development are key priorities for the Norwegian manufacturer, alongside reliability and credibility. These values have formed the foundation of Røros Metall’s success. Today, the company employs 47 people.
Reinforcing expertise in the central ventilation sector
Håvard Augensen, owner and CEO of Røros Metall, will step into a new role as head of Franke’s operations in the Nordic region and will actively contribute to the growth of the Franke Home Solutions division in this area.
His focus will be on reinforcing expertise in the central ventilation sector and expanding Franke’s regional and European presence. He succeeds Christoph Stuebi, who will lead the integration of Røros Metall, ensuring a smooth transition.
