Despite the difficult market environment, Miele continues to grow and can look to the future with cautious optimism. The German company is reaping the rewards of the Miele Performance Programme. It was launched in 2024 to sustainably improve the cost and earnings structure and ensure long-term competitiveness.
“We will continue to invest consistently in the world around us, even when conditions are turbulent – said Reinhard Zinkann, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor at Miele –. By 2028, we will have modernised around 60% of our product portfolio. This underlines our premium positioning, strengthens our market presence and lays the foundation for future growth”.
In 2024 and 2025, Miele invested a total of 468 million euros worldwide. The funds are used, among other things, to modernise and expand various plants. And they are used to further enhance development and training centres. This is complemented by investments in international production capacities and by expanding the global network to include Experience Centres in Brno, London and Montreal.
A 2.3% growth in the business year 2025
In business year 2025, the Miele Group increased its turnover by 2.3% to 5.16 billion euros. Kitchen solutions and professional appliances provided strong growth momentum. In particular, the latter now account for over 1 billion euros in turnover.
Last year, the Professional Business Unit launched numerous new solutions for medical, laboratory, and laundry technology. They include network-enabled laboratory washers and extra-large washing machines with load capacities of up to 35 kilograms.
As regards to the cooking appliances, Miele expanded its range with a modular outdoor kitchen. And it presented two further innovations: a steam cooking drawer and the connected M Sense cooking system.
Finally, looking ahead to 2026, the German company is not pessimistic, despite the uncertain geopolitical context. “We are cautiously optimistic about 2026 – said Markus Miele, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor – and anticipate a moderately positive trend in turnover, albeit still under intense competitive pressure”.
The results of the Miele Performance Programme
Thanks to the implementation of the Miele Performance Programme, the company has successfully achieved its savings target of 500 million euros by the end of 2025. A total of around 3,300 optimization initiatives have been implemented. The largest of these concerned logistics.
“Miele can embrace change. We have demonstrated this many times throughout our history – said Rebecca Steinhage, Executive Director Human Resources & Corporate Affairs –. With our Performance Programme, we have strengthened our competitiveness and made the company fit for the future. Despite economic headwinds, we have moved forward, gained valuable experience and are pursuing this path with determination. My thanks go to everyone who contributed to the success of the programme”.
Future growth will be strategically aligned with premium innovations in the domestic and professional sectors, as well as digitalization and artificial intelligence. In the field of digitalization, Miele is systematically advancing the intelligent networking of hardware and software with the aim of further increasing the benefits for both the professional and domestic sectors. Programs and services such as “Smart Food ID” and “AI Diagnostics” are designed to make customers’ lives more comfortable at home and enable predictive maintenance.
