For its revolutionary design, it is one of the most innovative solutions presented at the latest edition of IFA. Candy MultiWash is a new washing machine that allows user to wash laundry in three independent drums. The appliance has a main drum (10 kg) and two mini-drums, each with a capacity of 1 kg. Besides, the consumer can set the program, temperature, and duration of the wash for each drum. All this without compromising on efficiency, as the product is in class A-35%.
The technological heart of the appliance is the Intelligent Central System. With this new washing machine, user can do three washes simultaneously, saving time. The drums can also operate individually.
The 3-in-1 washing machine
The Intelligent Central System of Candy MultiWash automatically manages water and energy consumption with the support of the Artificial Intelligence. Specifically, three independent water inlet circuits – connected to a single tap and a single drain, as in a traditional washing machine – ensure that there is no contamination between the drums, while the centralized Auto–Dose system also allows user to manage two different detergents, in addition to fabric softener, according to the needs of each load in the three drums.
Besides, the washing machine offers particular attention to hygiene. The Smart Spray system, thanks to two specially designed water jets, removes foam residue at the end of the wash cycle, keeping the door and interior clean. The Clean Shield treatment prevents bacterial proliferation by up to 99%, while the 95°C self–cleaning cycle eliminates germs and dirt from the washing machine. In the upper left drum, UV sanitization is also possible to ensure thorough hygiene even at low temperatures.
Finally, Candy Multi Wash combines efficiency and practicality: the Quick Wash option reduces cycle times by up to 55% compared to a standard washing machine. MultiWash will be available in three configurations. The first to debut will be the 107 cm high version. This will be followed by the version connected to the hOn app and the standard size model measuring 85 x 67 x 60 cm, ideal for those with limited space. Finally, the company will launch a 107 cm washer-dryer version, where the two mini-drums work as a dryer.
80 years of innovations
Candy MultiWash is on display at the exhibition “An Archive of Possible Machines – 80 years of Candy: visionary technologies from the archive”. The exhibition in Milan, which ends on November 9th, is a project by Mattia Balsamini curated by Andrea Tinterri. The event is part of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the company, among the protagonists of design and technological innovation in Italy. The exhibition also follows the collaboration with the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato (Tuscany).
