The noise of the coffee grinder is one of those background “sounds” that mark the time of a bar: but how much would it be more pleasant if it was possible to decrease the volume and the nuisance? Pursuing this target – creating a silent coffee grinder – Faber has become main sponsor of the first edition of the Reduction of Noise Award. 30th June is the expiry date to devise a project and to candidate it with a detailed informative card: how it operates, of what materials it is made, what is the strong point that makes the appliance silent indeed. It is possible to send videos, designs, rough prototypes and all useful material to explain how the design really works. Proposals will be evaluated by the engineers of the Research&Development division of Faber who will analyse the projects in detail, dialoguing if necessary with their creators.
