The IMQ Group strengthened its presence in the Asian market with the opening of IMQ Lab Suzhou, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory dedicated to testing small household appliances, medical devices, in vitro diagnostics (IVD), and lighting equipment.

As highlighted by IMQ, the new facility aims to provide manufacturers and global operators with a qualified reference point for verifying compliance with major international and European standards, ensuring the safety and quality of products made in China and destined for global markets. “The opening of IMQ Lab Suzhou – said Vincenzo de Martino, CEO and President of the IMQ Group – marks another step in the Group’s international expansion and in our strategy to build an increasingly fluid, interconnected, and market-oriented operational model”.

Working in synergy with IMQ Certification Shanghai, the new laboratory enhances the Group’s ability to deliver integrated Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services directly within China, facilitating access to regulated markets and the management of technical assessments according to harmonized standards for international manufacturers (European and non-European).

The range of services is growing

In addition to the safety and performance testing already mentioned (on small household appliances, lighting equipment, medical devices and in vitro diagnostics), in 2026 IMQ Lab Suzhou will expand its services to include REACH and RoHS compliance testing, toxicological evaluations, chemical characterization of materials for medical devices, and testing of materials intended for food contact. In particular, IMQ points out that these activities will support companies throughout the entire technical and regulatory compliance journey, offering local services with internationally recognized value.

“With IMQ Lab Suzhou – comments Fulvio Giorgi, CEO of IMQ S.p.A. – we bring the expertise and independence that have always distinguished IMQ to one of the world’s most dynamic industrial hubs. This investment allows us to be even closer to our clients, enhancing collaboration between our international offices and the Group’s laboratory network”.

A global network

With IMQ Lab Suzhou, the Group strengthens its international network of laboratories, now present in Europe, China, the United Arab Emirates, and India, reinforcing its role as a global player in the TIC (Testing, Inspection & Certification) sector.

“The expansion in China – IMQ explains – is part of a broader strategy aimed at supporting global companies in verifying the compliance of products manufactured in Asia for export, promoting a worldwide culture of safety, quality, and sustainability”.
