Artificial intelligence has now become a constant feature of home appliances. This is very evident when looking at the products on display at IFA 2026. Now that the novelty effect has worn off, AI is above all a concrete tool for genuinely simplifying everyday life and helping users reduce the time spent managing the home. Another key theme at this edition of the Berlin fair is the focus on space-saving design, to adapt to contemporary spaces and make the most of every centimetre. Let’s take a look at some of the new products on display.
A simply ideal home
The idea guiding Midea’s exhibition at IFA 2026 is “simply ideal”. Smart Master is central, the company’s home ecosystem based on artificial intelligence, showing the evolution from individual smart devices to integrated AI solutions for the entire home. At its core is the AI Agent, which lets appliances understand what users say, interpret their needs and respond naturally.
Supporting 140 languages with an 8-metre voice recognition range and a 0.4-second response time, the system can be accessed through appliance-native voice entry points integrated into the air conditioner, refrigerator and built-in oven. Users can also interact with it through external entry points, including the Midea app, in-car systems, smart speakers and phone voice assistants, enabling a consistent experience across devices and settings.
“The AI Agent – explains the company – connects every aspect of your life. When someone arrives home, a single voice command activates Welcome Home mode, allowing Comfort Agent to coordinate air conditioning, humidification and laundry. At dinnertime, Health Agent uses ingredients in the refrigerator to suggest meals and coordinate cooking appliances. Throughout the day, Efficiency Agent helps manage energy across the home, while Service Agent responds when an appliance needs attention, from maintenance and fault guidance to after-sales support and real-time video assistance”.
Midea is also focusing on robotics combined with AI. Midea Robot is an example of how these machines can provide support in the kitchen, with laundry care, cleaning and more.
On the front of smart energy management, the company offers the AI Ecomaster system, while the Space Master appliances give more capacity within the same size. Finally, among the company’s other offerings are products from the Built-in series, the PizzaPro oven that reaches a temperature of 350°C, and the Omni Series family, which includes the Omni Trio multi-drum washing machine.
Washing machines with Flat design and artificial intelligence
At Samsung Connect, the company’s exhibition space set up for IFA 2026, Samsung has presented its new washing machines with Flat design. This solution, previously available only on some premium products, is now being extended to new 9 kg and 10 kg appliances. Compared to previous models, characterised by more protruding front elements, the new design creates a flat, uniform front surface, for an aesthetic that blends naturally into contemporary interiors. The range also features some Samsung washing technologies already available on certain premium models: the AI Wash cycle, AcquaSave technology and Ecobubble technology.
Further new proposals presented by Samsung for IFA are the new Bespoke AI washing machines. The 10 kg model, in particular, uses up to 70% less energy than the minimum energy efficiency requirement set in Europe for class A. And the 13 kg model offers greater capacity while maintaining a standard European depth of 600 mm thanks to SpaceMax technology. Finally, the latest Family Hub refrigerators also arrived in Berlin, introducing advanced AI-based food recognition features.
Home of intelligent possibilities
At IFA 2026, Haier’s approach takes shape around the concept of “Home of Intelligent Possibilities”. Among the new products on display are the Haier Vision 15 washing machines with AI Vision Sense, an internal camera capable of detecting key information for managing the cycle. Another new offering is the Haier Multi Care Collection, a range of multi-drum models. Among these, the Multi Care Laundry Studio combines four drums in a single unit, making it possible to handle different washing and drying needs simultaneously. In refrigeration, Haier presents Maestro, a prototype with an AI Defrost Zone that uses smart sensors and Haier’s proprietary technology to gently defrost food.
As for ovens, the ID Ultimate Series 6 model is equipped with AI Vision to recognise food, monitor its cooking and automatically stop once the selected result has been achieved. The company has also launched the Aura Collection, the new built-in range featuring the Aura Grey colour with anti-fingerprint properties.
In addition to appliances, the company has also focused on robotics. At the stand, humanoid robots demonstrate how these machines can work directly alongside people and appliances, carrying out practical and complex tasks, from loading and unloading laundry to placing food in the refrigerator.
The end of housework is in sight
With the motto “The End of Housework Is in Sight”, Miele shows how connectivity, sensors and artificial intelligence can really simplify everyday life. At the centre of attention are solutions that not only carry out tasks and individual operations on behalf of the user, but increasingly also make decisions. Among the main new products from Miele, the G8 Diamond stands out, the flagship model of the brand’s new generation of dishwashers. Thanks to an integrated camera, this product recognises the load level and the types of dishes it contains, adjusting the washing cycle accordingly. The appropriate amount of detergent is dosed automatically. In addition, the Miele app makes it possible to set personal preferences and settings, for example so that the G8 only starts once it is 80% full and not before 10 p.m.
Other innovations are CulinaryCoach (the AI-based culinary assistant integrated into the Miele app), the expansion of the W2 washing machine and T2 tumble dryer ranges, and the “Cary” concept study dedicated to the future of laundry. In this concept, the vision proposed is a machine that recognises the laundry, automatically adapts the washing process and sets the most suitable parameters. This way, all the user has to do is load the laundry and press Start.
Finally, for floor care Miele presents the second generation of the Duoflex range. The appliance vacuums, mops and cleans itself.
Technology adapts to people
In line with the vision that technology adapts to people’s needs, at IFA 2026 LG is offering a new range of washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers inspired by the Fit & Max concept, already featured in its refrigerators. These products combine space optimisation with advanced technologies. Among the new Fit & Max models, the Multidoor refrigerators with integrated display stand out, along with washing machines with large load capacity but space-conscious, and new dishwashers capable of completing a full wash and dry cycle in just one hour.
LG also showcases some of its core technologies, such as the Dual Inverter heat pump and inverter compressor solutions that achieve high energy efficiency. Among its flagship products, the Next AI DD washing machine reaches A-70% class.
As for LG Signature, LG’s premium brand, it presents for example a refrigerator with integrated AI-based voice recognition. It can understand conversational language and suggest the most suitable refrigeration modes for different foods.
A further new innovation from LG is ThinQ Claw. This is the new conversational AI agent designed to understand user intentions, interpret context and proactively coordinate devices and services through simple, natural interaction.
Appliances that defy expectations
The new products unveiled in Berlin by AEG come together under the concept of appliances that defy expectations. In particular, the brand presented its first hob with a dedicated pasta cooking function. This product is currently intended for the foreign market.
“The new AEG 7000 series OnePot Pasta hob – explains the company – does exactly what it sounds like. Select the number of portions, add the ingredients to the accompanying pot, close the lid and in 15 minutes, pasta al dente with a naturally creamy sauce. No constant watching, no guesswork, the hob does the hard work. Only the finishing touches remain”. AEG partnered with the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo (Italy) for a blind sensory test with more than 100 participants. “Comparing a tomato sauce recipe prepared with OnePot Pasta against the traditional cooking method – adds the company – the results confirmed with confidence that OnePot Pasta delivers an enjoyable taste and texture”.
Another new solution from the Electrolux Group is the ErgoMini handheld vacuum cleaner. It weighs 0.55 kg and combines an ultra-light design with cyclonic technology that separates dust and dirt from the air flow. A dedicated air-blowing function extends its versatility: by connecting the blower accessory, it is possible to dislodge dirt trapped in tight spaces, so that it can then be picked up more easily by suction.
At IFA 2026 there is also the new small appliance collection by Electrolux: the Nordic Timeless Collection.
Freshness in XXL format
Liebherr is presenting its latest refrigeration and freezing solutions under the motto “Preserve what matters”. In particular, with its new XL and XXL fully integrated appliances (194 cm in height), the company creates significantly more capacity for fresh food. The XXL models ensure ample space to keep even large quantities of food fresh at all times, while the XL appliances introduce a new height category with additional storage capacity.
The company offers high energy-efficiency models, both in freestanding and built-in versions.
Another area of focus is the further development of digital solutions. The company has updated its SmartDevice app. It offers new features and an improved user interface, for even more intuitive control of the appliances. Users have access at any time to key appliance features, useful information on how best to store food, and helpful service options. At IFA 2026, Liebherr unveils new content in the app for wine and energy efficiency. In particular, the Energy Monitoring function allows users to get real-time information on energy consumption, temperature curves and door openings.
Finally, Liebherr is presenting smart technology that optimises the operation of new freezers and sets new standards for efficiency and convenience.
