Weee Europe – the “one stop shop” for solutions in the management of WEEE and worn-out batteries present in 16 European countries – has become effective in Italy with ReMedia, founding partner. Weee Europe AG announced, as scheduled, the full operation starting from January 2015. The no-profit company, based in Munich in Germany, supports the manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment and batteries, in the complex scope of producer responsibility, allowing manufacturers to focus on their core business. Founded in 2013 by nine of the major European collection systems, including the Consortium ReMedia, Weee Europe AG subsequently welcomed the members of six other nations, and operates directly on the German market, offering an extended European coverage. Danilo Bonato, ReMedia General Manager, says: “We are proud of being a founding member of Weee Europe AG, by providing the services offered by this organization in the Italian market. Thanks to Weee Europe we can also offer our producers a European approach to the management of Weee and waste batteries beyond national borders.”
