EPA, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, has recognized Whirlpool with a “2015 Energy Star Partner of the Year” award. The company received the award for its contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency. “Since Whirlpool helped facilitate the development of the Energy Star appliances program more than 20 years ago, we have remained committed to the growth, success, and integrity of the partnership. We are honored to receive this award”, said Nate Mouw, director of regulatory affairs for Whirlpool Corporation. Since its inception in 1992, Energy Star and its partners have helped prevent a total of more than two billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
