Manufacturing of durable goods in USA: orders and shipments decreased in May

statistiche us manufAs reported by U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. new orders for manufactured durable goods in May decreased $4.1 billion or 1.8 percent to $228.9 billion compared to the previous month. Shipments of manufactured durable goods decreased $0.2 billion or 0.1 percent to $239.9 billion in the same period. Considering the “electrical equipment, appliances and components” category, new orders decreased by 0.4% (10,400 million dollar in May 2015 compared to 10,442 million dollar in April 2015) and shipments decreased by 0.5% (10,394 million dollar compared to 10,445 million dollar). During the period January-May 2015, new orders of “electrical equipment, appliances, and components” fell by 0,6% compared to the same period in 2014, while shipments grew by 1.1% from 50,290 million dollar to 50,861 million dollar.
