A recent study by the IC Insights research company highlights the fact that in 2015 54% of the world production of semiconductors was manufactured by enterprises with headquarters or anyway the decisional centre in the United States. The study is based on the corporate ownership, irrespective of the physical location of manufacturing plants. Second, after the United States of America, ranks South Korea with 20% followed by Japan with the 8% percentage. After the three leader Countries, come in the order Taiwan with 7%, Europe, considered in its entirety, which reaches 6%, and China with 3%.
