Miele announces a new product: its first bagless vacuum cleaner. For many years, the company shunned this segment: “Vacuum cleaning without a bag was previously not compatible with the calls of discerning Miele customers for high-level cleaning performance, convenience and hygiene”, is the explanation given by Frank Jüttner, Managing Director of Miele’s German sales subsidiary. However, as the followers of this approach to vacuum cleaning have grown steadily in numbers, product engineers at Miele have done their level best to overcome the inherent disadvantages of this method. “Now we can offer our customers machines which vacuum excellently and quietly, do not create a billowing cloud of dust when emptied and leave nothing to be desired in terms of handling”, said Jüttner at the Innovation Media Briefing, a preview of the forthcoming IFA trade show for journalists. The Blizzard CX1 is developed and produced at Miele’s own Bielefeld plant. “It is tested to last 20 years, sets itself apart from competitors’ offerings in terms of design and will be available at attractive prices”, commented the company in a press release. Jüttner did not divulge any further secrets as details are to be presented by the company at IFA.
