Bosch B10CB80NVBBosch has been recently recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with the 2016 Energy Star Emerging Technology Award for its 24-inch stainless steel and glass door refrigerators. The Emerging Technology Award is given annually to innovative technologies that meet rigorous performance criteria to reduce energy use and lower greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features or functionality. The Award for Innovative Refrigerant Systems recognizes the best available low global warming (GWP) refrigerant systems that help to protect the environment while offering additional energy savings for the consumer. Bosch was selected for its use of R600a refrigerant, a more efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to the widely-used R134a refrigerant. R600a refrigeration systems offer up to 10 percent improvement in energy efficiency as well a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. “It’s an honor to receive this recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – commented Christofer von Nagel, president and CEO of BSH Home Appliances -. Sustainability is part of our company’s DNA, and we are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the entire life cycle of our appliances, from manufacturing to performance, and recycling”.
