WSTS (World Semiconductor Trade Statistics) expects the world semiconductor market to grow in 2017 and 2018 to 378 billion dollar and 388 billion dollar respectively. For 2017, this represents an increase of 11.5 percent which is the largest growth year since 2010. This reflects expected increase in all major categories, with largest growth from Memory at 30.4 percent. In 2017, all geographical regions are expected to grow. For 2018, all major product categories and regions are forecasted to increase with the overall market up 2.7 percent, with Sensors contributing the highest growth. Europe is expected to be the highest growth region with a 3.2 percent increase in 2018.
