USA: shipments of durable goods

According to the data published by the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. shipments of manufactured durable goods in April decreased by 0.3% to 233 billion dollar compared to March 2017. This followed a 0.1% decrease in March compared to February 2017. However, considering not seasonally adjusted data, shipments increased by 1.6% in the period January-April 2017 compared to January-April 2016 (908,069 million dollar versus 893,844 million dollar). Observing the data about the category “Electrical equipment, appliances and components”, shipments decreased by 0.6% in April 2017 compared to the previous month, but in March they increased by 1% compared to February. In the first four months of 2017, the shipments grew to 38,412 million dollar from 37,987 million registered in the same period of 2016 (+1.1%).
