CdC Raee (WEEE Coordination Center) and Optime Federation (Observatory for the protection of the electronics market in Italy) have signed a memorandum of understanding to identify the operators who place and distribute electrical or electronic equipment on the Italian market, omitting the payment of the environmental contribution required by the European legislation. The Legislative Decree 49/2014 in fact provides that, when selling the electrical and electronic equipment, the payment of an environmental contribution by the consumer is required, as a quota included in the product price to cover the costs of the WEEE management.
