The robotics start-up GreenCobot presents MIA Cobot, the multipurpose automation unit for all production activities thanks to its reconfigurable layout and a wide range of compatible accessories. The innovative fulcrum of MIA is its rapid assembly and disassembly system, which allows a simple and immediate change of machine layout. Used by default as a gripping robot and collaborative palletiser, the unit can be converted for endless types of production tasks by simply replacing the several customisable accessories. With a load capacity of 18 kg max for the boxes and a maximum arm width of 1350 mm (GC-15h), the system fully meets the need for functionality and practicality without encroaching on valuable portions of production area. The minimum total floor space of just 600×900 mm without the need for perimeter safety fences allows the machine to be easily repositioned without affecting reliability, even in tight spaces.
“The GreenAnalysis control software, designed by GreenCobot to offer maximum readability even for unskilled staff, offers a flexible and user-friendly interface to select easily the palletising settings of your choice, or to make your own scheme quickly and intuitively – the company explains –. In its basic application as a collaborative palletiser, MIA is designed to mount arms from 1000 to 1600 mm reach, with wrist loads from 5 kg to 18 kg”. The unit is designed to assemble single or double belts on board with centring or weighing automations, which can be freely positioned to the right, left or moved to the front of the machine. Special attachments on the machine walls are used for positioning. The unit is also ballasted for improved working stability. A special lifting axle can be assembled to extend the working area of the cobot to palletize up to 2500 mm in height. MIA Cobot is equipped with an advanced high-precision error self-diagnosis system, the result of years of development. The software is able to report independently any anomalies and can be further integrated as an option by a vision system that helps the user to receive prompt and immediate remote technical assistance.
The flagship of MIA Cobot are the extensive possibilities for customised installations. For example, it is possible to choose among suction cup gripper types, pliers, pneumatic food fingers, vertical axes, repositionable belts and many other modes. The arrangement of loading belts and other accessories can also be changed during the installation or later. MIA Cobot can be equipped with the new SoftHand GreenCobot grippers for stiff items, cloths, loose food, packages and bags. By exploiting the production capacity with the latest SLS printers and GreenCobot’s in-house traditional machine tool fleet, it is also possible to provide the most suitable holders for each custom-made tool.
