The three brands Cmi, Faringosi and Mec of the Sabaf Group have joined forces to create the Hinge Division of the Ospitaletto-based multinational, guaranteeing an even broader offer that aims to combine technology, efficiency and sustainability.
Unity is strength everywhere, even in the hinge sector: it improves collaboration, creates new synergies and enables the strengthening of skills. The demonstration comes from Ospitaletto, where the Sabaf Group is based. From the heart of Lombardy came the news that the well-known components multinational has decided to unite the three brands Cmi, Faringosi and Mec in a single division, the Hinge Division, in order to make the offer even more interesting for the market.
For the Brescia-based multinational, this is a truly significant strategic choice. Newly established, the Hinges Division boasts a turnover of around 70 million and already accounts for 30% of the Group’s turnover. Numbers that place it second only to the Gas Division and that allow to look to the future with optimism and confidence. In fact, thanks to the synergy of the various souls that compose it, the Hinges Division of the Sabaf Group is able to meet the demand for products throughout the world market, boasting presidia in strategic countries such as Italy, Turkey, Poland, the United States and Mexico.
Technology makes the difference
Speaking of products, the Sabaf Group’s Hinge Division develops and manufactures the entire range of solutions. At the heart of every activity is the work of a team of highly specialised technicians, daily committed to proposing not only high-performance solutions, but also made-to-measure solutions, based on the requests expressed by customers. Meeting the needs of the market in general, and of each individual customer in particular, is the prime mover in the daily activities of the Hinge Division, where technology becomes the key to making a difference on the market.
This is what the door hinge has recently demonstrated, capable of standing out both in performance and practicality of use. On the occasion of the latest edition of Eurocucina, the Milanese event that brought together Italian and international companies, a leading customer of the Sabaf Group presented an oven with a motorised hinge, which allows the door to be opened and closed in fully automatic mode. From remote control to silence, from resistance to mechanical fluidity, the hinge becomes the axis on which to develop increasingly sophisticated and high-tech appliances.
All for one
As mentioned, the united and compact team of the Sabaf Group’s Hinge Division is made up of three different companies, each with its own particular history and expertise, now put at the service of a single project of even greater scope.
Cmi, founded in 1988, specialises in the development and production of hinges for ovens, dishwashers and washing machines. Design, innovation and high technology are its strengths. Cmi also and above all provides first-class service, making the company an all-round strategic partner and not just a supplier.
For over 60 years, Faringosi has been designing and manufacturing reliable, high-performance and high-quality hinges for household appliances. Products are developed by the R&D department, using accumulated know-how and the most advanced technologies, also involving customers from the earliest stages of each project to better meet their expectations and needs.
Finally, last only in alphabetical order, Mansfield Engineered Components completes the trio. Here we are talking about a North American manufacturer of appliance hinges, counterweights and motion control components that has been on the market since 1939. Mec designs and manufactures a wide variety of customised locking mechanisms ranging from simple hinge pins to hydraulic counterbalance systems that control movement, speed and torque.
