During a recent press conference, Ceced Italia (Italian association of manufacturers of household and professional appliances) presented the main initiatives that the association is realizing to support the household appliances sector and related components. The works on the “Orizzonte Project”, strategic and operational document for a new industrial policy, are continuing. After two meetings in the first half of 2014, there should be a further meeting with the Ministry of the Economic Development. In addition, after years of waiting, the White Certificates for appliances will be contained in the guidelines established by the Legislative Decree 102 of 2014. As for the WEEE, the commitment of the association is focused on development of program agreements on the collection with municipalities and retailers.
Finally, as regards to the energy label, Ceced Italia has been protagonist of the long process that led to the new European energy label for cooker hoods, mandatory from January 2015. Besides, actions continue in order to achieve the adoption of the energy label for professional refrigeration at European level, already in use on a voluntary basis in Italy.
In 2015, Ceced Italia will launch the program “Alliance for Smart & Intelligent Living”, with the purpose of engaging on strategic themes the main associations of the air conditioning, heating, lighting, IT, telecommunications, consumer electronics sectors. This will create a network of companies with a high political weight.
