Gifam, French association of household appliances manufacturers, announced good results in 2014 and good perspectives for 2015. “2014 – commented Gérard Salommez, president of Gifam – marked the return of the good years. With a growth in turnover of +1.4%, the sector shows the ability to stay the course despite the difficult economic situation. Today the sector represents 7.6 billion euro, with 14.5 million of major domestic appliances and 43.2 million of small appliances. The prospects for 2015 are more optimistic than those announced last year”.
Considering the different products, after a difficult 2013, the major household appliances were up 3% in volume and 1.1% in value. Small appliances, however, grew by 3% in volume and 2% in value, with particularly strong performance for food processors, appliances for hairstyling and epilators with pulsed light.
