According to data published by Gifam (French association of manufacturers of household appliances), sales of refrigerators in France reached 2,594,000 units in 2014, +3.4% compared to the previous year, while freezers totaled 707,000 pieces (+5%). Considering the washing segment, dishwashers registered the highest growth rate (+5.2% compared to 2013; 1,515,000 units), followed by dryers (720,000 pieces; +3.5%) and washing machines (2,630,000 appliances; +3.3%). In the cooking segment, kitchens and hoods decreased (-9% and -2.3% respectively). Sales of kitchens were equal to 519,000 units in 2014 and sales of hoods achieved 983,000 pieces. However hobs, ovens and microwave ovens registered a growth in unit sales compared to 2013: 1,579,000 hobs (+2.5%), 1,071,000 ovens (+3.5%) and 2,343,000 microwave ovens (+2.2%).
