The first edition of Robot Forum will be held on March 16th 2016 in Parma (Italy). It is the event on robotics in which national and international players (from industry and academia) will discuss about the applications of the future. The focus of the first edition will be dedicated to the assembly. “The assembly applications – said Federico Vicentini, coordinator of the Scientific Committee of Robot Forum – are characterized by an extremely wide range of technologies and production settings, from the prevalence of manual operations to the use of highly automated lines. The use of robotics for the assembly aims to improve the processes, supporting the operators especially in small and medium productions or in the possibility of reconfiguration/reprogramming of the robotic cells”.
The event is dedicated to the integrators of robotic cells interested in expanding their offer; it is also dedicated to the assembly operators interested in exploring the opportunities for the introduction (or upgrading) of robotic solutions in their plants. The program of the event is divided into 4 sections: Sensors and Perception, Handling and Control, Human-Robot Interaction Cognitive and Human-Robot Interaction Secure Physics. Within these sections, the speeches – coordinated by the Scientific Committee which includes the most important national and international names in the world of robotics – are dedicated to the present and future of the technology useful to the assembly: the trends of the development in robotics, the structure of the collaborative robots and their interfaces, the case studies in the research projects dedicated to the assembly, the experiences of other European countries.
The Robot Forum, thanks to the synergy with MECSPE (trade fair dedicated to the technologies for the innovation, for many years engaged in the development of the Automation and Robotics area), continues during the exhibition (17th-19th March 2016), creating a virtuous circle between exhibitors and visitors of the two initiatives. In the Assembly-Robotics Excellence Square (fifth edition), it will be possible to observe some of the most interesting applications developed by the sponsors and their system integrators, and it will be possible to analyze the topics discussed in the plenary session. Moreover, in this area, on March 17th, there will be the Solution Award, a competition for the system integrators indicated by the sponsors. They will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of Robot Forum.
