Elica is a partner in the eighth edition of the Cristalplant Design Contest, the design competition organized by Nicos International. The contest is dedicated to emerging designers and young talents with the invitation to design the hood of the future using Cristalplant as the base material. Cristalplant is an innovative composite material, a technologically advanced product developed in the Nicos International R&D centre. Elica has chosen this innovative material for its YE island hood, designed by Fabrizio Crisà . Every project presented for the contest will be evaluated by a jury of experts in design and furnishing: the deadline for the submission of the projects will be February 29th, 2016. There will be two winning projects for the categories “young and senior designers”: the awards will be presented at the 55th Salone Internazionale del Mobile (Milan). The winning projects will be realized as prototypes, with the possibility of creating a product in collaboration with the Elica Design Center for Elica’s 2018 catalogue.
