According to the data released by GfK Temax, the Argentine technical consumer goods market grew by 30.5% in the third quarter of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014. The higher growth was reported in the major domestic appliances and consumer electronics.
Major domestic appliances
In the third quarter of 2015, the MDA sector increased its sales strongly: up by 52.1%, compared to the same period in 2014. The most important growth segments were cooling products (up by 60.5%), washing machines (up by 52.5%) and cooking products (up by 48.5%).
Small domestic appliances
The SDA sector reported an increase of 85% in Q3 2015, compared to the same period last year. Several segments registered major increases, including food preparation equipment with 87.8% growth, electric heating products with an increase of 52.4%, coffee makers with revenue up by 64.2% and finally, mini ovens with a growth of 207.9%.
Consumer electronics
In the period July-September 2015, sales in the CE sector grew by 33.5%, compared to Q3 2014. Panel TVs registered a sales increase of 37%.
Photography
This sector grew by 7% in Q3 2015, compared to Q3 2014. Both the digital cameras and the lenses segments reported an increase in sales.
Information technology
In the third quarter of 2015, the IT sector recorded a sales increase of 17%, compared to the same quarter last year. Notebooks continued as the category with the largest turnover, up by 6.7%. On the other hand, desktop computing products grew by 14% and tablets grew by 42.8% compared to the same period of 2014.
