A vertical aeroponic vegetable garden, where the roots of vegetables, strictly organic and zero-km, instead of plunging into the soil are suspended in the air and nutritional elements are delivered by nebulization. All that with a small use of water, energy and soil, which makes it usable in narrow spaces and in territories affected by water shortage.  It is the identikit of “veve”, that is to say “vegetables in vertical”, innovative start up established in the ambit of Manufacturing Project, the incubator and hub of the green economy created by “Trentino Sviluppo”, with headquarters in Rovereto (TN). Devised by Matteo Sansoni, “veve” appears as a real smart household appliance for the direct cultivation of vegetables with a triple function: “The first – explains Sansoni – consists in granting the food safety, since everyone, from Milan to Shanghai, with a simple balcony, an unused terrace or a corner of a room, can have fresh fruits and vegetables directly controlled. The second is the nutritional one: the “veve” vegetable garden can provide a four-people family with the daily requirement of vitamins and nutrients for a healthy diet”.

“Veve” takes up a small space (one square metre by 2.30 metre-height) and operates with a simple connection with the electric socket and the tank filling with water, with nebulization of a natural ionic (not chemical) solution. The substrate absence and the aeroponic technology allow a bigger production compared to traditional methods, more eatable quantity and absence of noxious pathologies for the development of vegetables themselves. Compared to a conventional vegetable garden, the water saving reaches 90 percent, for a cultivation of even more than 200 plants according to size and development.
