A few months ago the Chinese group Qinghua Unigroup had made an offer of 23 billion dollars for the purchase of the US American Micron Technology, a manufacturer of flash memory. The proposal, however, was rejected by the competent state authorities in the US. Now the Chinese press announced that the local group XMC is going to invest 24 billion dollars for the construction of a new plant for the production of flash memory in China itself. Meanwhile, the Dutch company NXP Semiconductors, a manufacturer of logic, discrete and power semiconductors, has announced the sale of its standard products division to a consortium of Chinese groups Beijing Jianguang Asset Management and Wise Road Capital. The new company will be called Nexperia and will be based in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. The division in question had achieved in 2015 a turnover of 1.24 billion dollars. The sales price was instead of 2.75 billion dollars.
