Major domestic appliances
Double-digit growth was registered in the MDA market in Q2 2016 with a rise of 15 percent, compared to Q2 2015. The increase was spearheaded by tumble dryers and the built-in range of products. Small domestic appliances

Consumer electronics
The CE sector in Hungary rose by 27.4 percent in the second quarter of 2016, compared to the same period in 2015. There was a significant growth in the largest category of the sector – panel TVs – which increased by 40.2 percent. This was largely due to the Uefa Euro 2016 football championship. Increased sales in the soundbars, action cameras, and connected audio segments also contributed to the success of the sector.

Photography
In Q2 2016, the photography sector registered a double-digit increase, compared to Q2 2015 – up by 10.2 percent. Sales of compact system cameras (CSC) and single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras expanded, contributing to this result.

Information technology
The IT sector declined in Q2 2016 – a fall of 10 percent, compared to Q2 2015. The largest drop was observed in the mediatablets segment which declined by 24.3 percent. The only product groups to show growth were monitors, and keying devices.

Telecommunications
Double-digit growth was reported in the TC sector. In the second quarter of the year, the market increased by 17.2 percent, compared to Q2 2015. Although the market share of premium smartphones grew, sales of phablets continued to decline – down by 26.4 percent, compared to the second quarter of 2015.

Office equipment and consumables
In Q2 2016, the OE sector declined by 8.9 percent, compared to Q2 2015. The only segment to grow was inkjet cartridges, while printing devices and laser cartridges declined.
