GfK reports record sales in Italy during the week of the Black Friday (November 20th-26th, 2017). The estimated sales – based on the data related to the main online and offline retailers active on the Italian market – show an overall increase in value of 39% for 19 of the most important categories of the Technical Consumer Goods market, including TVs, PCs, smartphones, tablets, refrigerators, washing machines, digital cameras, etc. If the Black Friday was born in the United States as a day of pre-Christmas promotions in the physical stores, today the most important sales increases are on the web. This figure can also be seen in Italy, where the online channel recorded an increase in sales of technological products by 46% compared to the same period last year. The performance recorded by the traditional channel was also positive: +37% compared to the Black Friday of 2016.
