Great success for the presentation of Match It -Atelier Appliances 2019 (MiCo Milan, 9-10 May 2019), the first international event dedicated to the world of components, which is proposed as a unique opportunity for manufacturers of components, accessories, equipment, services and sub-supplies to meet the International Appliance Top Buyers (manufacturers, technical offices, R & D, designers, design studios …).

The event, held on September 11th at the Tecniche Nuove Palazzo della Cultura, in Milan, was born with the desire to create a first moment of confrontation among the actors of the supply chain, as underlined Ivo Nardella, CEO of the Gruppo Tecniche Nuove, who during his opening speech highlighted the international vocation of the Editorial Group and of the Italian companies present in the hall.

Ivo Nardella, CEO of the Gruppo Tecniche Nuove

“We are proud to be able to bring together the Italian excellence in the field of domestic and professional components, because we have always been with them. We thought that in Italy there was not a real moment of confrontation and networking between the players in the Appliances and Industry sectors: from this reflection comes the idea of MatchIt Atelier Appliances, an appointment to reflect on the challenges of the sector and look beyond our market “.

Fabrizio Sala, Vice President and Councilor for Research, Innovation, University, Export and Internationalization of the Regione Lombardia

Afterwards, there was the speech by Fabrizio Sala, Vice-President and Councilor for Research, Innovation, University, Export and Internationalization of Regione Lombardia who presented the “Lombardy Model”, underlining the importance of continuous dialogue between institutions and market. “One Italian company abroad out of three is Lombard, in 2017 we exceeded 120 billion euros of exported goods and in the first quarter of 2018 Lombardy exports grew by 7.9%. The Lombardy Region has allocated 40 million euros for the internationalization of companies and we are encouraging the creation of small multinational companies called to multilocalization”.

Massimo Moscati, editor director of the Home Appliances Division

Starting from this food for thought, Massimo Moscati (editorial director of hafactory and eldomtrade magazines, media partner of the initiative) presented a preview of the Outlook Household Appliances research data on the household appliances sector, conducted in June by GRS Ricerca e Strategia for Senaf, on a sample of about 150 Italian companies in the sector of Appliances.

The most significant data emerging from the Observatory concern the training, export and innovation sectors: 52% of the sample companies invest up to 10% of their turnover in training, but only 29% of them engage in training between 11 and 30 hours (compared to the average 21 hours of Italian companies). As for exports, the average turnover generated by sales on foreign markets by the companies interviewed – in the range from 45% to 70% of production – is only 19.7% compared to 51.2% achieved in other sectors (according to a report by Unioncamere / Mediobanca 2017). A very positive figure emerges in the Research and Development sector: in the sector, the investment ranges from 1 to 10% for 52.7% of respondents and 36.9% of the sample companies are perceived in line with the required skills compared to the current state of the Industry 4.0 process. The percentage rises to 65% when it comes to digital transformation. Finally, 78% of the sample companies export their components to Central Western Europe, but the export sector reveals data with great growth potential.
