During the Women in Manufacturing (WiM) Summer Leadership Conference, more than 60 women business leaders from companies like Toyota, Procter & Gamble, BASF and ALCOA convened at GE Appliances, a Haier company, in Louisville (USA) to discuss efforts to attract, engage and retain women in manufacturing. “We want our team and operations to reflect the people who use our appliances – said Bill Good, vice president of manufacturing for GE Appliances -. In the last six months, we have increased the number of women working in our supply chain operations by more than 10 percent. While this represents great progress, we want to be the best place to work for women in advanced manufacturing”.
