The LG-Nielsen survey on the innovation at home

A more connected, easy to manage and efficient environment, in which smart devices take on an increasingly central role: this is how Italians imagine their home, according to the LG Electronics’ Innovation at Home survey, conducted by NielsenIQ. Technology has gained more space in the homes, so much so that 1 in 2 respondents would prefer to give up a bigger house in order to have smart devices at home. The need for smart devices is particularly evident among the younger people (68%) and among those living in the South Italy (65%). The advantages are: greater efficiency for 51%, comfort for 49%, ease of management, entertainment for 35%. As for how Italians envision the home of the future, for the youngest (65%) it is an environment where smart devices can fully manage the household chores. Furthermore, among the appliances considered most important there are air conditioner, chosen by 44% of the interviewees, television (42%), refrigerator (39%) and washing machine (35%). Finally, 6 out of 10 Italians consider it important that their devices are also aesthetically pleasing.
