Another important step in the economic activities taken by CS was the opening, at the end of 2002, of CS Colombo USA Inc., headquartered in New York. This represents a fundamental presence for covering and meeting all of the North American market requirements”. Company’s industrial structure is divided into three departments: production, tooling and logistics. The production department is equipped with 24 presses of European make (Arburg and Babyplast), to manufacture thermoplastic materials. Their operation is automatic and microprocessor controlled. “Specialized employees are in charge of the entire production process – the company says –. In addition, the production department uses the services of a subcontractor for the manufacturing of some of its parts: this guarantees production volume flexibility, while preserving our same high quality standards. CS staff continually manages our subcontractors, who only work for CS using CS tools and raw materials”. The tooling department is equipped with numerous tooling machines, such as tangential grindings, CNC millers, CNC spark erosion machines, CNC wire erosion machines, lathes, and CNC vertical machining center.
