As reported by ERP (European Recycling Platform), the Environment Agency published the Q1 2024 UK WEEE data. There was quite a significant increase in WEEE collected in the first three months of the year compared to the same period of 2023: 134,062 tonnes vs 118,177 tonnes. Large Household Appliances, Cooling Appliances and Display Equipment specifically registered a significant growth (respectively +23%, +11% and +12%). Overall collected tonnage in the first quarter 2024 was 13% higher than that collected in the first quarter 2023, with about 16,000 tonnes more collected.
