IFA has always been a stage that shows what’s new in the home appliances. This year too, there is no shortage of novelties for an increasingly energy-efficient and smart home. Here is a small taste of what the brands are proposing in Berlin.
ThinQ ON, the new smart home hub
LG is presenting ThinQ ON, the smart home hub with AI. Powered by LG’s Affectionate Intelligence, it continuously learns from individual usage patterns to tailor customers’ daily experiences. ThinQ ON allows users to control their AI appliances with spoken commands delivered in a natural manner. Besides, the hub autonomously monitors all elements within the smart home ecosystem. LG ThinQ ON is Matter-certified.
The hOn SMART HOME ecosystem
Haier Europe focuses on the hOn SMART HOME ecosystem. It integrates Haier, Candy and Hoover appliances, energy management devices, complementary solutions and services. Besides, there are various innovations from the individual brands. Haier, for example, presents the I-Pro Shine dishwashers with Biovitae technology. Candy‘s latest innovations include Fresco 700, the refrigerator with anti-waste functions. Hoover chose Berlin to present the entire rebranding. Among the products on show is the HF2 cordless vacuum cleaner.
AI-assisted cooking
AEG‘s new kitchen range includes ovens, hobs, hoods, refrigerators and dishwashers. It features smart technologies such as AI TasteAssist. By sending a recipe found online to the oven, the appliance automatically selects the optimal cooking settings. The range also features the CookSmart Touch display. In hobs and ovens, the interface provides effortless control. The user can access the Assisted Cooking function and delegate automatic control of boiling and cooking to the appliance.
High efficiency appliances
Samsung is showcasing, together with other innovations for the smart home, its new range of energy-efficient appliances. It includes the Bespoke AI washing machine with A-50% energy efficiency, the Series 7 Jet Clean dishwasher in class A-10% and the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo washer-dryer in class A. This product is the company’s new all-in-one solution: the intelligent washer-dryer is equipped with Digital Inverter heat pump technology and a 7″ colour touch display.
Matter-enabled home appliance
BSH is displaying a Matter-enabled home appliance. It is an XXL built-in fridge-freezer combination for both the Bosch and Siemens brands. The new Matter connectivity standard will enable fast and easy cross-brand connectivity in the future. Among the new products, Bosch presents the Series 8 WGB244AW0 washing machine, 50% more efficient than energy efficiency category A. Siemens proposes, for example, the new hobs with diamondProtect: they are equipped with a scratch-resistant CERAN surface. BSH also celebrates 10 years of Home Connect.
Vacuum cleaner is circular
As regards to Miele, the company is presenting a concept for a circular vacuum cleaner. The “Vooper” study – a word that combines “Vac” (vacuum cleaner) and “Loop” (cycle) – shows a cordless handstick with a fully modular design. Its comprehensive dismantling capability enables the valuable materials to be almost completely returned to the material cycle at the end of its life cycle.

The Italian Polti is also exhibiting at the trade fair, showing the new products of the Polti Vaporetto range, a new line of Polti Vaporella Garment Steamers and the entire range of Polti Coffea espresso machines.
