To manage EPR obligations in Italy and across European markets, an increasing number of companies are turning to Ecolight Servizi, a member of the Ecolight System specializing in helping businesses manage waste and comply with the complex environmental laws. The growth recorded in 2025 demonstrates this. According to data from the latest Sustainability Report of the Ecolight System, internationalization services increased by 147% compared to the previous year, confirming the growing interest of companies in specialized support for managing environmental obligations linked to the Extended Producer Responsibility.
“As the regulatory landscape becomes increasingly complex – explains Fabio Bianchi, CEO of Ecolight Servizi – companies that market electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and accumulators beyond national borders have to deal with EPR systems that differ from country to country. Registrations, periodic declarations, the appointment of authorized representatives and requirements related to managing products’ end of life represent increasingly complicated activities, especially for companies operating in multiple markets at the same time”.
The companies supported by Ecolight Servizi
During 2025, Ecolight Servizi supported 97 Italian companies in marketing electrical and electronic equipment and batteries in Europe. At the same time, 619 foreign companies chose, through Ecolight Servizi, the consortium of the Ecolight System as their authorized representative in Italy to fulfill the obligations set out by the national regulation.
Besides, 968 companies entrusted Ecolight Servizi with managing procedures related to EEE (Electrical and Electronic Equipment), while 408 businesses turned to the company for procedures concerning batteries and accumulators. “Environmental regulations are evolving rapidly across Europe – points out Fabio Bianchi – and they require specialist expertise. Our goal is to support companies along this journey, simplifying the activities and allowing them to focus on their business, with the assurance of operating in full compliance with the rules”.
Different areas of activity
Internationalization is only one of Ecolight Servizi’s areas of activity. Over the past year, the organization has dedicated particular attention to:issues related to RENTRI (the National Electronic Register for Waste Traceability), with the simplified EcoRENTRI platform; training activities for the companies; and proper management of professional waste. The goal is to turn increasingly complex obligations into manageable processes that are integrated into company operations.
