Following the non-acquisition of GE appliances, for which it was paid a considerable fine, Electrolux announced a number of structural cost-cutting in the field of small appliances. The measures, motivated by unfavorable exchange rates and lower markets in several key areas, intend to regain profitability in certain areas, such as the US, Sweden and China. The actions in the plan are expected to reach full effect at the end of 2016 with an annual savings estimated at 120 million crowns (a little less than 13 million euro). The costs associated with the plan should be around 190 million kronor (20 million euro).
