Vamp Tech, thanks to its know-how about flame retardant compounds, is studying plant engineering technologies and solutions for halogen-free flame retardant compounds, which provide for the use of nano-fillers as the active element for the flame delay. The target consists in obtaining an optimal distribution of carbon nano-tubes in different polymeric matrixes including polyamides, POM, PEHD, PPS and PEEK, in order to obtain dissipative compounds with very low percentages of nano-fillers. In the ambit of this research, Vamp Tech has already succeeded in developing compounds based on polyamide that couple carbon nano-tubes with different typologies of halogen-free Flame Retardant additives, thus obtaining a synergy effect that opens new applicative prospects to thermoplastic compounds. In particular Vamp Tech aims at the implementation of compounds that are simultaneously electrically dissipative and flame retardant, suitable for challenging applications and in potentially explosive environments where it is important to prevent the accumulation of electrostatic charges.
