Engel, one of the major world producers of machines for the plastic material transformation, offers the X-Melt technological package for micro-moulding. The patented X-Melt technology, known also as expansion moulding, is used to produce precision micro-parts also with subtle wall. The peculiarity of X-Melt is that the material injection into the mould occurs with still screw, exploiting the expansion of the compressed material in front of the screw. X-Melt grants the highest reproducibility, low energy consumptions and utmost versatility, because it is not necessary to use a specific micro-moulding machine. As a matter of fact, the X-Melt technology can be applied on a standard Engel machine provided that it is equipped with electric injection (e-motion, or e-victory).
