Ecomondo logo_bigRimini, in Italy, has recently hosted the 19th edition of Ecomondo (international trade fair on material and energy recovery & sustainable development). The event was held from 3rd to 6th November. The green economy and circular economy have been the focus of the fair, that saw about 1,200 exhibiting companies located at 16 halls. The exhibition has covered the main themes of the green technology: the treatment and exploitation of waste (with a focus on bio-based industry and green chemistry), the new proposal of Global Water Expo (dedicated to the integrated water cycle), the sustainable energy and mobility etc. Ecomondo has also proposed several conferences, showing – for example – the opportunities for access to community programs for financing the green economy. The trade fair hosted the States General of the Green Economy, organized by the National Council of the Green Economy (which represents 66 organizations and businesses from Italy’s green economy), in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment and the Ministry for Economic Development. Besides, it was presented the 1st Report on the state of the green economy in Italy, with an insight on green enterprises at national level and an analysis of the trend of the green economy in the main sectors, with a glance at the prospects and expectations for the near future.
