ERP_CRMCritical Raw Material Closed Loop Recovery, the project promoted by European Recycling Platform, leader collective system in Europe in the management of Weee and Wba, aimed at boosting the development of innovative methodologies of collection and treatment of electronic wastes to improve the percentage of “noble” material recovery, has officially started in Italy, Germany, United Kingdom and Turkey with an ambitious goal: reaching within 2020 the 5% increment in the recovery of “precious” components like graphite, cobalt, antimony, tantalum, rare earths, silver, gold and platinum.

At the state of the art, in the Countries of the European Union they generate every year about 9.9 million tons of Weee. Out of this quantity, only 30% undergoes a correct procedure of treatment, reuse and recycling, while the percentage of precious and rare materials does not exceed 1%.

Through the call for tenders, addressing private citizens and consortia, Critical Raw Material Closed Loop Recovery intends to promote the presentation of innovative projects containing precise and feasible indications about changes to be made to the current organization of the collection and recycling activities of Weee or process innovations sharing in making the recovery of precious secondary raw materials more productive and sustainable.

The deadline for the project presentation is fixed on April 7th 2016. All information about admission criteria and the technical specifications of proceedings are available on the Internet site of the project at the page www.criticalrawmaterialrecovery.eu/tenders.
