A German record investment in microelectronics

The German government has allocated a record 400 million euros for a research program in the field of microelectronics. Federal Minister of Education and Research Johanna Wanka told press that the project will involve 13 research institutes with a total of 2,000 scientists. The aim will be to research on the most advanced silicon, semiconductor and composite technologies, with particular emphasis on energy efficiency.
