Arçelik has been awarded at the TCG Awards as an innovative brand in the EMEA macro-area in the Sustainability category. For the same category, the company also won this year the gold medal and the inclusion in the 2020 sustainability yearbook (2020samyearbook) which highlights the best performing companies in the various sectors in terms of attention to the environment, in the social field and with significant financial governance. The concept of sustainability is important for the Turkish multinational, owner of the Grundig and Beko brands: it is seen as an essential strategy for continuously evolving and responding promptly to the needs of a constantly changing world, both from an environmental and social point of view. In particular, Grundig recently launched a series of sustainable and smart technologies including the drum for the new washer dryer range, made with recycled plastic bottles, and the micro-fiber filtering system integrated in the washing machine. In addition, it supports the “Respect Food” project against the food waste. As for Beko, the results obtained by the brand from 2010 to 2016 showed a 34% decrease in energy consumption per product, a 31% decrease in water consumption and a 97% increase in the reuse of recyclable waste. Besides, it participates in the “Eat Like A Pro” project in partnership with UNICEF and FC Barcelona: the initiative aims to prevent the childhood obesity and to support a proper nutrition.
